“CAN YOU BLOW BUBBLES IN SPACE?” – MARTIN
Project
A pastiche of cult science fiction, ‘Into the Black’ followed the day to day lives of a crew living aboard a spaceship in the far future. Performed in May of 2017, it featured an elaborate set, practical effects, and established the rich world building my work has become known for.
The world of the play has since been developed further, and is the setting for a number of other creative works, including the upcoming novel ‘The Great Unknown’.
I hugely enjoyed working with Calvin on “Into The Black” – not only was it incredibly fun to work on a genre not often touched by theatre, it was lovely to dive into his world and explore the very real characters he crafted.
I’m always really excited to work on projects with Calvin. …His approach to drama always has a fun and engaging air to it, especially when it comes to his genre pieces.
